I am Marcia Logel, LICSW-PIP, and I represent District 2 on the Alabama Board of Social Work Examiners. I completed my BSW at Troy University (2005) and my MSW at the University of Alabama (2018). I have been employed with the Alabama Department of Human Resources since 2005. I have worked in three different counties, as well as the State Office, with increasing responsibilities in all areas of service. Foster Care and adoptions have been my passion as I believe all children deserve a loving, safe home and permanence! After being appointed in 2025 as the Director of Crenshaw County DHR, I now call Crenshaw County my home.

Though my experience has predominately been with the Department of Human Resources, I have had the opportunity to partner with Children’s Aid Society and spend 2-3 weeks each summer camping with foster/adopted and independent age youth from 2010-2023. I have also worked as a hospice social worker (prn 2017-2020), providing assessments, resources and comfort to families as they navigate end of life care. Each of these experiences have added invaluable knowledge and allowed me to grow as a social worker.

I was first licensed on the bachelor’s level in March 2006 and have worked through all levels of licensure to my current clinical classification. Being a licensed social worker has opened so many doors for me, and I will continue to promote the social work mission through advocacy and education.
